Hello and welcome to Yummy Mummy Cooks!
My website dedicated to bringing delicious home cooking inspiration to busy families…
In today’s society it’s common for both parents to work; so the challenge of producing a home-cooked meal on a daily basis that the whole family eats is a chore. There isn’t a cure for being short on time, which is why I’m always looking for simple recipe ideas or short cuts in preparation time to help me save time in the kitchen. As a parent myself, I believe in encouraging good eating habits and educating my kids about good food, but this sometimes feels impossible with such busy schedules.
I’m a working mum and home cook from Yorkshire. I was lucky to have a Mum who taught me the basics in the kitchen, giving me the confidence once I left home to experiment with recipes. I’ve always enjoyed baking (I love eating cake!), but my cookery adventure only really started in my mid-twenties when I met my husband Mike and had someone else to feed. Over the last 15 years I have become a confident cook – through reading recipe books, food magazines and watching cookery programmes on television. I recently attended a course at Ashburton Cookery School in Devon to learn some new skills and techniques, so I hope I can share some of my new knowledge with my readers.
No-one is born a great cook, but I am living proof that you can be if you are prepared to try. The only way to increase your confidence in the kitchen is to step out of your comfort zone and give it a go. So what if a dish isn’t perfect, roll with it. You’ll have learnt something, and you’ll be better prepared next time.
So, whether you’re a cooking catastrophe or someone searching for inspiration to expand your repertoire in the kitchen, I’m here to help you prepare simple, delicious, family-friendly meals.
I look forward to getting to know you – Good luck!
Always made with love…
